Reported by:Becky Elder
Event Name:Girls Dress
Code
Parties: Girls and Ladies on the Faculty
Time and
Place:Thursday Sept 23,2015/NFS Convocation
Facts: Two Zimmerman girls
and Kayla Duckens were pretty far out and were asked to correct it. The Zims put on
the scarves that are provided for this purpose. Kayla got upset and went home,
not returning that day.
Protocol Violations: Be Modest
Proposed Solutions: Scarves from Mrs.
Segard
Other Thoughts: This must be worked at by the Ladies on the
Faculty at the beginning of the year to help the girls discerning.
The girls met at lunch to do a quick self-check of skirt lengths. We re-read the policy that skirts "extend to the knee." I communicated with parents that we would call them from this point forward if their students were found violating the dress code, clarifying that we will give the ok when pants are allowed for girls on Oxford Thursdays for winter weather.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good step. Thank you for a quick turn around in dealing with this. I assume that winter will bring leggings, or is it leggins? I also assume that skirt length does not vary with winter-wear.
ReplyDeleteLets visit soon and you tell me what was wrong with the girls who got scarves. Tanks/bare shoulders etc continue to be problematic since there is no clear line with them. Thanks. Lisa
ReplyDeleteI think we need to allow pants pretty soon. I was chilly yesterday in my skirt, and while I know I run on the cold side of things, we probably have other girls in the same boat.
ReplyDeleteLet them into their winter wear. Lisa, just what you described was the issue with Zims. That should go away with winter. Leggins still threaten.....
